Developing consistent habit of writing and organizing ideas is challenging for a writer. You may have various topics written in your note books, project ideas that are scattered in pieces, waiting to take shape. In most cases, such innovative topics or projects may get lost due to lack of attention or planning. Are you wondering how to solve this problem? Give mind mapping a chance to organize your thoughts, projects and ideas. This is a creative form of idea mapping that aims to map your ideas in a process similar to functioning of brain. You can branch out your ideas from a single concept into categories and sub categories. There is mind map software to help you or you may start on a plain paper.

Here are some ways that a writer may use mind map to get organized.

1.    Planning a project or about an article can be done easily with mind map. Think about the areas that require attention and focus. Decide about the starting point and add ideas as you progress. Write down the keyphrases after you have selected a topic and branch out with ideas that are relevant to the keywords.

2.    While executing a project, mind map can be used to generate ideas for topics that are relevant to your project. If you are working on multiple projects then you are allowed to monitor progress of projects and add ideas to different projects and topics as they come to your mind.

3.    With the use of mind map software ideas can be stored to content calendar and ready for taking necessary actions. Research and allocate your topics according to difficulty and relevance. This helps to solve problems like writer’s block and allow you to be more productive.

4.    Mind map helps you to layout ideas in a visual form. A daunting project, article or task may look simple after you have sorted out the steps to reach target. Develop a project or article in an organized way.

5.    You may also invite inputs and ideas from your friends, partners or guide. It is easier for them to provide inputs when you show them your mind map. A particular idea may need some more keywords or new topics may generate from such brainstorming.
