Being a leader is more than bossing sub ordinates around or pushing one’s weight onto others. Leadership training programs teach individuals how to manage those working with and under them, how to take sensible decisions in times of crisis and how to maintain a healthy atmosphere in the work place along with getting the job done.

Leadership training programs explain the tactics of people management to individuals. A leader is someone who is not only excellent in his job but also understands the jobs of those working with and under him. A true leader will never advertise his power to his sub ordinates. Those working around him should naturally want to follow him. This has more to do with personality than capability.
Everyone should take leadership program classes. These classes teach you how to communicate better with others. You also learn how to think straight when things go wrong. You should be able to take calculated risks and think on your toes all the time if you want to be a successful leader. The program gives you pointers in how to achieve all that.
Are these Programs only for Leaders?
You don’t need to want to be a leader to attend the programs. Those who work under leaders should also take classes in leadership programs to understand better how leaders think and what they are expected to do. This makes it easier for sub ordinates in work places to understand why certain leadership decisions may seem out of place or unfair at times.
