There are many reasons which can cause us to lose our capacity to make effective decisions. It may happen that you have so much information in your minds, that your brain is said to be ‘information overloaded’ and you are not able to make the right decision when a need arises. What happens in such a case? It is very likely that you start losing focus on things, you start forgetting important information, you start suffering from problems of poor communications and you start experiencing problems in organizing your thoughts.
It is in such a situation that the need of mind mapping arises. These can be described as programs that organize information in our minds in the same way as our brain does. This is actually a diagram or diagrams that are used to present ideas, tasks or words which are linked to or are arranged around a main word, known as central keyword or an idea. The main elements in such a technology are arranged as per importance of the various associated concepts. They are usually classified as per groups, areas and branches or in between different portions of information. This helps to analyze and understand information very effectively and efficiently. Such software or a program solves several of our problems related to information gathering and solving.
There are many advantages of such a program which helps in making communication clearer and much better. This is the best way in which thoughts can be organized and recollected. There is a noticeable increase in productivity, which is reflected in the work. Decisions can be made better and important issues can be sorted away faster. This is the best way to solve all your problems much quickly and more effectively.
These maps can be drawn easily by hand and can be in the form of rough notes that are usually prepared like notes taken down during meetings or lectures. However, there are many sophisticated versions also available with some great illustrations. There are many such programs that are available in the form of video tutorials that help to explain the working of such maps.

Sounds interesting and useful. I remember being quite impressed reading a book by deBono on how the mind organizes information. I am sure there is further research. In any event, it seems very important to know how the mind organizes information of all kinds since it is helpful not only in helping us reach the right decision, etc., it also shows us how prejudices and things that we view as generally undesirable take root in our minds.

I totally embrace the idea of mindmapping - organizing creative responses to a topic. In the old days we called it notetaking/outlining/. . . In my job, we sometimes begin with brainstorming, and then move to classifying similar themes . . . to create a mindmap. Thanks for sharing a broad way to think!
